El Dorado School Earns National Historic Recognition!

The final piece of the puzzle is in place! On October 1, 2026, El Dorado School was officially listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Our neighborhood school now has historic recognition at the city, state, and national levels—a wonderful milestone worth celebrating.

Congratulations and heartfelt thanks to Will Green, Kara Brunzell, Tatyana Dunn, Shannon Ross and everyone whose dedication helped make this happen. East Sacramento Preservation is delighted to share this happy news!

Next, Sacramento City Unified School District will complete its 60-day period for offering the property to government entities. We will keep you informed as that process concludes and the next steps become clear.
