East Sacramento’s 38th Street Blood Drive A Success
East Sacramentans came together and saved lives at the annual 38th Street Blood Drive. The event featured a BBQ, drinks and plenty of community spirit. Two blood trucks from The Blood Source processed the donations.

East Sacramento Preservation Announces Friends of the River Bank Dragonfly Event
Greg Kareofelas will be back to talk about the amazing dragonflies down at the river by Sutter’s Landing (in Midtown) on Saturday, August 13th. The event is hosted by Friends of the River Bank.
The event starts at 10 am this year (since the dragonflies took a while to get warmed up last year) so everyone can sleep in an extra hour. Tours meet in the parking lot next to the skate park.
“Big Red”, above, is just one of the fascinating creatures you might see. Bring your questions and your nets for catch and release (FORB have some insect nets available). It’s going to be a great day.
