East Sacramento Preservation Announces Friends of the River Bank Dragonfly Event
Greg Kareofelas will be back to talk about the amazing dragonflies down at the river by Sutter’s Landing (in Midtown) on Saturday, August 13th. The event is hosted by Friends of the River Bank.
The event starts at 10 am this year (since the dragonflies took a while to get warmed up last year) so everyone can sleep in an extra hour. Tours meet in the parking lot next to the skate park.
“Big Red”, above, is just one of the fascinating creatures you might see. Bring your questions and your nets for catch and release (FORB have some insect nets available). It’s going to be a great day.

This may be the last Sacramento City Neighborhood Services and community members meeting. This group has served East Sacramento and other Area 1 neighborhoods for years. It’s an important tool to keep the neighborhoods informed and active in city matters. It may soon be a victim of budget cuts.
