Where is Mercy’s Loading Dock?

Mercy Hospital made a poor decision. As these pictures show, the hospital is using J Street as a loading dock.

Concerned citizens are working with the city and Mercy Hospital to remedy the situation.

ESP and East Sacramento residents have respectfully requested that Mercy develop an on-campus loading dock. Using the sidewalks, red zones, center and driving lanes to move cargo is extremely dangerous. ESP has written to the hospital, the vendors and city to help motivate the hospital to do the right thing.

On the positive side, Bryan Gardener of CHW is listening to the concerns and meeting with the all parties. There is another “on street” meeting on August 17th at  1:30 pm at the corner of 40th and J Streets. We are expecting an update from CHW. Please attend if you can.
