FREE Health Fair and Fundraising Fitness Camps, September 13

Sacramento, Calif., (9/13/14) – “Sweatin’ for McKinley” is a free health fair with fundraising fitness classes happening all around the park; all of the proceeds are going to Friends Of East Sacramento, a local non-profit that maintains McKinley Park. It will take place on Saturday, Sept 13, from 8:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. at McKinley Park. The FREE health fair features health screenings, food, music, raffles and health seminars. Purchase a ticket to the fitness buffet and take all you can handle, including pick up sports games and fitness classes starting every half hour. Whether you’re into Yoga, Soccer, Zumba, Foot Ball, Pilates, Boot Camp, Thai Chi, or Boxing, Sweatin’ For McKinley has a class for you! And don’t forget to bring the kids out so they can meet the local fire department and police force, drain their energy at one of the kids fitness classes, try some healthy snacks, and conquer the Sweatin’ For McKinley obstacle course. Attendees can take as many classes as they’d like with one ticket. Train Hard Or Go Home, Inside Publications, the East Sacramento Chamber of Commerce, Home Care Assistance, Steve Cohn, Mercy Hospital, and Friends of East Sacramento have joined forces with local businesses to support McKinley Park.

Meg White, owner of one of the main sponsors Train Hard Or Go Home, recalls what the park means to the community: “McKinley park was a place for me to run my fitness boot camps before I could open my studio, it’s a place for adults to get together and play their favorite sport, couples vow to spend their lives together here, people literally come here to smell the roses. I’ve seen all walks of life gather here to share a meal.” She encourages everyone to participate because you “can’t put a price on the value of this park. It takes the whole community to maintain McKinley. If we want it to stay around for us and our next generation to use, we must band together and SWEAT for McKinley.”

Fitness Classes: $10 Early Bird Tickets get you access to as many classes as you can handle. These can be purchased online at www.SweatingForMcKinley.com
