Great American River Clean Up – Saturday, September 17th 2011 (9am – 12noon) | ||||||
The mission of the American River Parkway Foundation is to support the preservation, protection, enhancement, and appreciation of the American River Parkway by fostering environmental stewardship, facilitating volunteer opportunities, and funding and implementing Parkway projects and programs.As a part of this mission we conduct the annual Great American River Clean Up. Participation in the Great American River Clean Up is a real contribution to the health of the Parkway and river. Removing trash and debris prevents pollutants from entering the watershed, harming the wildlife, or creating hazards for recreational users. Additionally, keeping the Parkway clean protects ocean life by preventing trash from being washed downstream during the winter rains. We need your support for this very worthy event.
