Gargoyles, tree houses, elephants, dolphins and turtles, all lend twists and laughs to East Sacramento front yards. Yards are our faces to the world: some are tidy, brushed and combed and others are exuberant and filled with mirth. Enjoy this first installment of East Sacramento—Front Yard Whimsy.

Rows of summer corn, mini orchards, munchkin squash patches? Community gardening in East Sacramento may soon be taking a turn. Our city is considering a proposal to amend its zoning law which prohibits agriculture in residential or non-agriculture zones. For East Sacramento passage of the amendment would mean that community gardens could be developed on private land.

Report to Planning Commision

The public hearing for the proposed community garden ordinance will be on the Sacramento City Council agenda for a public hearing on Tuesday, July 26^th at 6 pm.  The staff report will be available on Friday, July 22^nd
