East Sacramento Preservation Supports Harvest Sacramento
Soil Born wants to harvest your summer and fall fruits (and nuts)!!!!
Soil Born slowed down their harvesting efforts after the citrus season, but are now ready to start up again. If you or anyone you know has a fruit or nut tree that will go partially or totally unharvested in the next few months, please put the tree information into the “TREE” form on their web site or contact Randy (rstannard@soilborn.org or 530.204.8082).
Trees ripe now: Apricots, plums, pluots, peaches, nectarines, figs, grapefruit, lemons, kumquats.
Late summer and fall fruits include: Figs, pomegranate, peaches, plums, apples, pears, persimmons, walnuts
NOTE: We also offer a home pick-up service for those of you who would prefer to harvest yourselves. This also would include vegetables from your garden.

Soil Born at Hart Senior Center
With assistance from Soil Born Farms and the Midtown Business Association, the seniors at the Hart Senior Center have opened an urban farm stand with produce supplied by Soil Born Farms. The farm stand is open Wednesdays from 9am – 1pm. Soil Born Farms is supporting this effort by providing training to staff and volunteers and coordinating produce purchases from local farmers.
Soil Born at Comptons
Soil Born Farms is also helping Compton’s Market to develop more relationships with Sacramento-area growers.. Compton’s offers an outdoor produce market every Saturday. You can support this effort by letting Compton’s know that you want to see local produce in the store!
