No Permit, Illegal Building Draws East Sac Neighbors’ Ire

Shameless scofflaws constructed two homes in McKinley Park this week. The perpertrators were nowhere to be found. These homes, with full modern amenties, close to the urban core, use existing heritate tree canopy and public property. The home builders did not apply for city permits. “Design review was not used and neighborhood outreach was nil,” said neighbor, Stella Garden-Blossom. “We are astonished at this brazen disregard for the regulations.”

City officials are looking into the matter. “We’ll catch this troublemaker. We won’t leave a mushroom unturned. You can’t tiptoe your way out of this one,” said  police spokesman, Lieutenant Commander Oliver Talltwigs.

Spring Cleaning at McKinley Park Pond

Help us get a new look!

Help us get a new look! Our pond needs a spring cleaning. ESP is asking for volunteers to work May 2 and May 9. Digging up bamboo roots it the biggest job, but there are a few other chores. Transporting debris across the pond to trash bin, sawing hardwood limbs and possibly deadheading roses, trimming Papyrus and Juncas. If you’re lucky you’ll get work detail on the boat!

Email Judy at contact@eastsacpreservation.org if you can help.
