Sacramento City Unified School District is having a job fair tomorrow for classified positions. Many of these are part time and perfect for a Mom or Dad wanting to re-enter the part-time work force from full-time parenting. Many of the jobs are in the classroom and also have benefits!!! Come prepared—SCUSD will be making offers on the spot to qualified candidates. Here’s more information:
Sacramento City Unified, among the largest school districts in the region, is inviting prospective bus drivers, food service assistants, occupational therapists and more to attend a three-hour job fair for classified employee hiring Saturday morning.
Openings include those for instructional aides for special education and child development; bilingual aides for students who speak Mandarin, Cantonese, Spanish and Hmong dialects; library media technical assistants; and custodians.
Candidates are urged to bring their résumés and be prepared for interviews. The district pays benefits, including paid holidays, vacation and sick leave for eligible positions.
Both part-time and full-time positions for qualified candidates are available. The school serves about 43,000 students at 76 school sites.
The event runs from 9 a.m. to noon in the Serna Center, 5735 47th Ave., Sacramento.
Note: Just found out that fingerprints, TB screening and computers (for positions that require testing) will be set up at the fair. You could walk away with a job if you’re qualified.
