Fill out this form to volunteer for Friends of East Sacramento’s Next Volunteer Day. Details follow.
Dear McKinley Park Volunteers:
Thanks so much to all of you for your volunteer help in keeping McKinley Park clean and beautiful.
We wanted to let you know that our next volunteer day will be Saturday, January 4, from 10 am to 1 pm in the McKinley Rose Garden. (At H and 33rd Streets)
We will be joining with the Sacramento Rose Society volunteers for the garden’s annual prune-a-thon. No experience is required as expert rosarians will be there to teach volunteers how to prune. Help will also be needed in removing the rose bush trimmings, raking where needed in the garden, and pruning the bushes around the garden.
If we have enough volunteers we will also help rake the leaves in the park, especially around the children’s playground and the Clunie Center.
And as a special treat, after the prune-a-thon, we will have a hot soup lunch for the volunteers, thanks to the kindness of Evan and Laurette Elsberry from the restaurant Evan’s Kitchen.
If you have garden clippers or rakes that you could bring with you that would be a big help. Also, please bring your garden gloves, dress warmly and be sure to wear closed toed shoes.
R.S.V.P.s are requested, though drop-in help will also be appreciated.
The check in will be at the benches in the garden, which is at the corner of H and 33rd Streets. Come and help for all long as you can. Also, for your convenience we are attaching a volunteer form that we hope you might complete and bring with you on Saturday.
Again, thank all of you for your all your help in McKinley Park. We wish you a very Happy New Years.
Much thanks and warm regards,
Friends of East Sacramento
