Sat March 16 – More Tree Planting

This is a reminder that Phase 2- Replacement Tree Planting is scheduled for Saturday, March 16 at 9 am at McKinley Park.  Recall that many volunteers came out to support Phase 1 of the Tree Planting effort that took that place in January. It was a great success and now we’re ready for the next step. If you have questions or would like to participate, RSVP to Will Green at wgreen@surewest.net.

Replacement Tree Planting

On behalf of East Sacramento Preservation, Neighborhood Association, I want to thank you for braving unpredictable weather and participating in the January 6th, 2024, Phase 1 – Replacement Tree Planting at McKinley Park. With a helpful demonstration by Esteban Lopez on how to install the trees, over 30 volunteers planted 13 trees in less than 90 minutes. WOW!!
We planted several tree specimens: 6 Ginkgo Biloba, 4 cypresses, and 3 Tupelos.
The Director of City Parks, the Staff, and Arborist were very impressed with the turnout and the great job completed.
In fact, so much so, we have Phase 2- Replacement Tree Planting scheduled for Saturday, March 16th, 9 am at McKinley Park. Please RED CIRCLE this date and give a couple of hours of your time.
If I understood correctly, it is only with the help of motivated and committed volunteers that this tree-replacement work is accomplished in our City Parks.

Thanks for your help.   Will Green
