East Sacramento Preservation Supports Volunteer Efforts

Friends of East Sacramento is hard at work organizing McKinley Park beautification in these troubled fiscal times. Volunteers from throughout the community weed, spread gravel, groom and trim in the park and the panhandle.

“Thanks to (the volunteers) the Shepard Garden Arts Center is sparkling, and an additional quarter mile of the jogging/running track is refurbished.  It does not happen without great volunteers.  You are appreciated,” says Friends of East Sacramento.

There’s no volunteer day scheduled by Friends of East Sac for August.

Saturday, September 10 from 9 am to noon is the next day to help. Volunteers will rake and spread decomposed granite to fill in holes and build a better surface on the jogging path. Meet at the Rose Garden picnic tables to help.
