Rain or Shine – Let’s Grow the Canopy!
East Sacramento Preservation-Neighborhood Association, in partnership with Sacramento City Parks, Urban Forestry Arborists, and the Sacramento Tree Foundation, is working to restore and enhance McKinley Park’s tree canopy—and we need your help!
📅 Event Details
🗓 Date: Saturday, March 29, 2025
⏰ Time: 9:00 AM
📍 Meeting Location: Along 33rd Street near Park Way & the Tennis Courts at McKinley Blvd. (Look for the white tool van and City of Sacramento trucks.)
🌱 What You’ll Be Doing
We need 30-35 volunteers to plant 10-15 new trees in McKinley Park. The City will pre-dig the holes using augers, and volunteers will:
✅ Clear holes with shovels
✅ Plant, stake, and mulch the trees
✅ Work together to strengthen our urban forest
🔨 What to Bring
🔹 Work gloves (everything else, including shovels and tools, will be provided!)
🔹 Energy and enthusiasm!
🔹 Supervision for young volunteers—kids are welcome, but they need an energetic adult to assist them.
📝 Sign Up & Waiver Info
All volunteers must complete a City of Sacramento waiver before participating.
🔗 Activity # 29376 – Sign the waiver here.
🚨 Spots are limited! If the event shows as FULL, add your name to the waiting list—last-minute openings often happen, and we’d love to have you join us.
