McKinley Park Pond Ducks–Problems with Abuse
Pond News from Judy
When people let their dogs run off leash there will be problems with McKinley park wildlife. About two weeks ago, a dog attacked a duck and left it with a large deep wound on it side and two broken leg bones. The dog owner left the duck without notifying anyone. Though the bones in the leg have healed, the duck likely has nerve damage. He can’t walk and will likely be euthanized.
About two months ago, another duck was found dead in the pond and we were informed that a teenage male had thrown objects at her and killed her.
We need to speak up when we see abuse.
